Audiobook 001 Alex Vance reads "Sanguine and Clockwork" by K. M. Hirosaki

This week's story asks its readers to consider the consciousness of an autonomous body.

Florian, the sorcerer at the heart of the story, is a seemingly more insecure Dr. Frankenstein.

And Vico, his mindless, obedient laboratory servant warrants the same sympathy Frankenstein's monster demanded.

Our very own Alex Vance read this story for us this week, so that those of you with bad eyes or morning commutes or whatever can make sure to get in on the book club.

We hope you enjoy the story as much as you enjoy Alex's smooth European accent!

  2. Beautiful and a epic story.
Your voice Alex make me feel lost in the story or apart.

  3. This story as I remember it was quite the read. Now that I've listened to it I have to say there is a moral here..

Vico who was the most chilling of characters to me did have some sort of feelings even if he was not supposed to have them. It proves love is stronger then control.

I believe Florian was the most creepy of the characters because he was so obsessed with the noble fox he couldn't get past the stalker in him to break himself of it.

The moral is don't be a creep with your creations because even they have feelings too. I think Florian got what was coming to him because again being a stalker is not cool.
